The Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria State, Paulino Lukudu Obede, says the state government is taking steps to strengthen security in Bilinyang of Mangalla Payam following concerns over the continued presence of armed cattle herders in the area.
Obede made the remarks after meeting a delegation of local leaders and representatives from Bilinyang, who expressed concern over the security situation and its impact on the safety, livelihoods and daily lives of residents.

The delegation appealed to the state government to deploy stronger security measures to protect lives and property and restore normalcy in the area.

In response, the Deputy Governor assured the delegation that the state government is working closely with security institutions to improve security, enforce the rule of law and ensure the protection of all communities across Central Equatoria State.

He also commended the delegation for pursuing dialogue to address their grievances, describing peaceful engagement as an important step toward resolving security challenges.

Obede further urged communities to continue cooperating with government authorities and security agencies as efforts to restore peace and stability in Bilinyang and other parts of the state continue.
