The Minister of Information in Jonglei says the extension of Eye Radio broadcast to Bor offers a means of circulating messages of peace and reconciliation.

The station broadcasts on 88.6 FM in the state capital.

Akech Deng said it will enable information reach to the grass root level.

He says the state government has welcomed the role of the station to offer Education, Information and entertainment people in the state.

“Now it will be good and easy for me as a minister of information to be able to reach our population in the state, be it either good news or business or crimes that are committed by individuals in the community,” Mr Deng said.

Last week, Eye Radio extended to Rumbek, Western Lakes State, on 88.6 FM.

The radio also broadcasts in other state capitals including Yambio, Wau, Aweil, Torit, and Kwajok and Juba.

The extension is part of a strategy of Eye Media, which manages Eye Radio, to expand the listenership of the radio to inform, educate and entertain the people.

The project is in partnership with the telecommunication company, Zain.
