Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir has won presidential elections. He obtained 94.5% of the total votes cast.
El-Bashir contested on the ticket of his National Congress Party.
The chairman of National Election Commission, Prof Muktar Al-Assam, declared the results during a press conference in Khartoum few minutes ago.
Professor Al-Assam said the total number of those who voted in the presidential race was 5.5 million. And el-Bashir won more than 5 million votes.
El-Bashir has been in power for 26 years and will extend his term in office for another five year.
The elections were boycotted by most opposition political parties in Sudan.
