Governor Lobong meets Justice Minister over Kapoeta East Commissioner’s Killing
Governor Lobong says he presented the case to the Justice Ministry for intervention and follow-up to ensure due legal procedures are pursued against the suspects.

Eastern Equatoria State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has met with Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol to push for legal action in the case of the late Kapoeta East County Commissioner, Stephen Lowosio Lomongin.
Governor Lobong says he presented the case to the Justice Ministry for intervention and follow-up to ensure due legal procedures are pursued against the suspects.
Commissioner Lowosio was killed in June in the disputed Kessengor area, an incident that heightened tensions between Eastern Equatoria State and the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
Eastern Equatoria authorities said the commissioner was ambushed while on official duty, while authorities in Greater Pibor gave a different account of the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the killing remain disputed.
Following the incident, Governor Lobong established a committee to investigate the killing and identify those responsible.
The Justice Minister, Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol, has reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the case and ensuring that justice is served.
