South Sudanese club Al Ghazal Wau suffered a heavy 7–1 defeat to Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup 2026/27 campaign.

Singida Black Stars dominated the match from the start, putting Al Ghazal Wau under pressure throughout the first half.

Matthew Tegisi scored a hat-trick before Sheikhan Khamis added a fourth goal to give the Tanzanian side a 4–0 lead at half-time.

Singida Black Stars continued their strong performance after the break, with Jonathan Sowah scoring twice to extend the lead to 6–0.

Al Ghazal Wau pulled one goal back in the 70th minute through Mohammed Zakariya.

But Singida Black Stars remained in control, with Henery David scoring the final goal to seal a 7–1 victory.

The defeat leaves Al Ghazal Wau facing a tough task in the return leg in Tanzania, where they will meet Singida Black Stars on their home ground.

The South Sudanese side will need a major comeback in the second leg to keep its CAF Confederation Cup campaign alive.
