Abducted aid workers released

20 aid workers who were abducted by forces loyal to Dr Riek Machar in Northern Liech State have been released.

They were reportedly abducted in Nhialdiu area on Friday.

An Eye Radio journalist in Bentiu says the aid workers, including two women, returned to the town yesterday. One is a Gambian while the rest are South Sudanese.

The aid workers say their personal belongings were confiscated.

The staffs were working for the International Rescue Committee, Danish Refugee Council and Mercy Corps.

Our journalist says he met them while they were being reunited with their families at a humanitarian hub.

The agencies they were working with did not issue an official statement.

Our journalist says most of the aid workers were reunited with their families upon arrival and they were also receiving psychological support from the International Office for Migration.
