A woman has been arrested on suspicion she was planning to detonate two grenades to kill another woman with whom she had had a fight in Manyiel payam, Police in Aweil East County have announced. The cause of the fighting is not clear.

An official said the grenades belong to her husband.

“She ran into her house and took her husband’s two grenades, saying she wanted to kill the woman who had fought with her,” explained Garang Kuac Mayom, director of police in Aweil East.

“One of our military intelligence officers heard the noise, ran and found the woman with the grenades.”

Mr Kuac said the unnamed woman is under interrogation.

Garang urged the community to report anything likely to cause insecurity.
