The national liberation of the SPLM- DC has changed the name of the party to ‘Democratic Change’.
This decision was made during the fourth session of the party’s national council which ended yesterday in Juba.
However, Dr Lam Akol, the party’s chairman, says the new name will take affect once it is approved by the party’s national congress.
“We changed the name of the party because we are no longer Sudanese,” Dr Akol said.
SPLM-DC stands for ‘Sudan’ People’s Liberation Movement for Democratic Change.
The party was formed in June 2009.
