Twic East County in Jonglei state is relatively calm after an attack on the area on Tuesday.

The incident which occurred in Patieu village left six people and 3 others wounded.

Two children were also abducted in the incident.

County commissioner Dau Akoi says the victims were attacked and killed while traveling on foot to an area called Dhiam-dhiam.

He added that a security force is searching the forests for the attackers, he believes came from the neighboring Boma state.

Twic East County has been witnessing deadly attacks since the crisis erupted in 2013.

Two months ago, two people were killed in a similar incident.
