The Office of the First Lady says it will take on full responsibility for the 15 month old girl who survived a plane crash last week.

Nyalok Tong survived along with Mr. Wuor Arop, who saved her during the incident.

Both also sustained several fractures on the legs and other wounds on the head. Arop is now recovering at a Chinese hospital in Juba.

While Little Tong has been flown to Nairobi for further treatment.

Wilma Achok Deng spoke to Eye Radio today on behalf of the Office of the First Lady.

“We thank the First Lady Mary Ayen Mayardit because she is going to take full care of this little girl,” said Ms Achok.

“She is taking her today [Monday] to Kenya for treatments and the first lady will also take full responsibility of her.”

For her part, the Miss World South Sudan, Aja Kiir, expressed happiness for the improvement in the conditions of the two survivors.

She said the little girl may one day be crowned as Miss World South Sudan.

“I know by the will of God, she will be fine one day she will take the crown from me.”

The cargo plane crash left 41 people dead. It crashed near Juba International Airport shortly after takeoff.

The First Lady will raise and educate the little girl, according to officials.
