The special court hearing the case involving Riek Machar and seven other co-accused has adjourned its proceedings to Monday, 20th April 2026, due to the illness of a member of the judicial panel.

The adjournment came during Session 69, which had been scheduled for the re-examination of a prosecution witness after the defense team concluded its cross-examination last week.

At the start of the session, Judge Steven Simon confirmed the presence of all parties, including the prosecution team and their witness, the defense lawyers, and the accused persons.

However, the court was unable to proceed after it was announced that one of the panel judges, Isaac Pur Majak, had fallen ill.

Judge Simon subsequently adjourned the session and rescheduled the hearing to 20th April 2026.
