The Governor of Western Equatoria State, Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa, has officially dissolved two key committees responsible for managing cattle-related revenue and community relations within the state.

In a state order issued on Friday, the Governor announced the dissolution of the High-Level Cattle Revenue Collection Committee. This body was originally formed in November 2025 to oversee tax and revenue collection from Ambororo cattle keepers operating across Western Equatoria.

In addition to the revenue committee, the Governor dissolved a nine-member ad hoc committee that had been tasked with promoting peaceful coexistence between the nomadic Ambororo herders and local farming and business communities.

Both committees were initially established to manage potential tensions and ensure that cattle-related activities contributed to the state’s stability and economy.

The directive was issued under powers granted to the Governor by Republican Decree No. 47/2026. It also aligns with Article 99 (2) (a) of the Transitional Constitution of Western Equatoria State, 2011 (as amended in 2015).

According to the official document signed in Yambio, the dissolution took effect on April 10, 2026.

The Governor’s office did not immediately name successor bodies, but the move marks a transition in how the state handles the complex relationship between migratory herders and resident agricultural communities—a key issue for regional stability.
