The United Nations says more than 500 people have been displaced to its camp in Bentiu over the last five days.
Most of them came from Guit and Nhialdiu in Rubkona County, where heavy fighting has been reported between the government troops and the SPLM in Opposition forces.
In a statement, UN spokesman Stephen Dujarric says the recent displacement has brought the number of people sheltering at the camp to more than 53,000.
It says more than 119,000 people are in UN compounds across the country.
