300 pupils send home over late coming

More than 300 pupils from Konchibek Primary School have been sent home as a punishment for coming to school late in Aweil East County, Northern Bahr El-Ghazal State.

The headteacher of the school, Joseph Marring, says the pupils were sent home because they were late for the morning parade.

He said the children were asked to clean the school compound as a punishment, but they refused that was they were sent home.

Mr. Marring urged the parents to discipline their children and tell them to behalf well while in school.

He said parents have the duty to ensure that their children report to school on time.

However, some of these pupils confirmed that they were sent home for two weeks, and they were not told why they would miss classes for this period.
