About 2,000 families receive NPA’s donation in Terekeka

About 2,000 families in Terekeka County in Central Equatoria have received non-food items from Norwegian People’s Aid.

The IDPs in Gemeza, Mangalla and Tombek need mosquito nets, saucepans, blankets, jerry cans, plastic sheeting, soap and other items.

Norwegian People’s Aid Program Coordinator Boboya James told Eye Radio’s Sundown Show that the items have been distributed to people who have been sheltering under trees in the area.

“We also provided them with non-food items because these people are living on the island and will not have access to water, so they need to have jerricans, saucepans, so that they can cook for themselves,” said Mr Boboya.

“However, we are working very hard with WFP to make sure that food items are also delivered to those IDP camps in Tombek and Terekeka.”

Mr. Boboya said 3,000 households in Awerial, Yirol East and Yirol West Counties in Lakes state have received non-food items.

He said the NPA and the WFP are also distributing food items to IDPs in Fangak, Leer, Wau shilluk, Panyijar and Malakal town.
