The 1,000 tractors that were donated by the president early this year will not be distributed until the next farming season, the Ministry of Agriculture has announced.
Agriculture Mechanism Director in the Ministry Dr. Erneo Balasio Peter says they are planning to train the farmers before using these tractors.
He said they also need to collect spare parts for maintenance of the machines.
“But now if we talk about the 1,000 tractors we cannot order the farmers to be ready with their fuel because the 1000 tractors are not ready yet, that means these tractors are ready but the spare parts are not available yet,” Dr Balasio told The Dawn show.
Mr. Balasio says they will start distributing the tractors to Aweil Rice Scheme, Renk and Jebel Ladu.
