World Bank launches the BPC&SC in S. Sudan

The Business Plan Competition and Business Startup Challenge for South Sudanese entrepreneurs have been launched in Juba.

Speaking during the ceremony, the World Bank Head of Office in South Sudan, Nicholas Pontara, said this project is part of the Bank’s program.

He says the aim is to promote private sector development in South Sudan to create job opportunities for the youth of South Sudan.

“We need to strive to create jobs for the youth, for a number of reasons to improve their livelihoods and both to keep them away from troubles.” Pontara said.

He added that the World Bank was proud to support such efforts in promoting entrepreneurship across South Sudan.
