The UN Women and Germany have signed an MOU to increase funds for participation of women in the peace process.

German Ambassador Johannes Lehne and Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain, the UN Women South Sudan Representative, signed the agreement worth almost 400,000 Euros in Juba last week.

The two partners also signed an agreement last month in New York on three million Euro pledge to support sustainable livelihood activities for women and reduction of sexually and gender-based violence in South Sudan and Mali.

The support will be given majorly to the displaced populations and the host communities.

50 percent of the funding will be offered to South Sudan, and the other half, to Mali.
