The Western Equatoria State Government has approved SSP 117.56 million for the rehabilitation of the Bazungu–Sug Siru road.

The approval was made during the eighth meeting of the State Council of Ministers chaired by Governor Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa on Friday.

The state government says the road rehabilitation is part of efforts to improve transport infrastructure and support economic activities across Western Equatoria.

Authorities say the project is expected to improve access to markets, healthcare facilities, schools, and other essential services, especially during the rainy season when poor road conditions often affect movement.

The government says the improved road network will also ease transportation challenges for farmers, traders, and communities while strengthening trade links within the state.

The approval forms part of Western Equatoria’s wider infrastructure development plans aimed at improving connectivity and supporting social and economic development.
