‘We have fuel’ – Oil ministry

The Ministry of Petroleum Mining and Industry says it has brought in more fuel to Juba to help contain the severe shortage.

There is an acute shortage of petrol and diesel in several parts of Juba.

Speaking to Eye Radio, the Spokesperson of Petroleum and Mining Industry, Nicodemous Ajak Bior said the fuel will be accessed from three outlets, from today.

“We have fuel at Queen’s, Lokita and Global petrol stations,” said Mr Ajak.

“Any citizen who wants to buy fuel, either diesel or petrol will access this from the three distributor centers.”

Mr. Bior said the fuel will be sold for the normal price in the market. One litter costs 6 pounds.

He did not mention how much fuel will be in supply. The Spokesperson also added that the oil fields are secure and operating normally.

He said South Sudan pumps close to 200,000 barrels of oil a day.
