Over 100 members of the SPLM in Western Bahr el Ghazal have convened an urgent meeting to discuss insecurity in the state.

The meeting was led by the state Governor, Hassan Rizik Zacharia.

The members say there is an increased rate of crimes in the state, including rampant killings and theft.

“There is insecurity here from time to time, looting and killing in the town all the time. The insecurity is also in the rural areas and payams, bomas,” said Valentino Majok, SPLM State Secretary.

They have recommended deployment of security personnel across the town to curb the crime rate.

The meeting was attended by SPLM parliamentarians, state cabinet ministers and members from the state secretariat.

During the meeting, the SPLM cadres welcomed the reinstatement of Pagan Amum as the SPLM Secretary General.
