The Mayor of Wau says two soldiers have been executed by firing squad in the town after being found guilty of murder.
Akol Akol said the soldiers were accused of killing two civilians a week ago in Aweil Jedid suburb in Wau Town.
The unnamed soldiers were tried by a military court, which found them guilty as charged.
Mr Akol said the public was called to witness the firing squad on Friday.
“They had committed murder; they killed civilians, two civilians, a male and female in Aweil Jedid on the 17th of July,” he told Eye Radio.
Mr. Akol called on civilians to report soldiers who commit crimes so that they are tried in court.
