War not an option-Gov’t

The spokesperson of the delegation to the peace talks says the government will not opt for war despite delay in the negotiations with the SPLM-SPLA in Opposition.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Michael Makuei, who was addressing a news conference in Juba this morning, says he is hopeful that lasting peace will be achieved in the country very soon.

He says the only solution to the current crisis in the country is peace.

“My message to the people of South Sudan is that despite of all these things we will not opt for war, but continue to pursue peace because peace is the only solution not war. We should not be scared, we should be optimistic, we must be hopeful because peace will come.” Makuei said.

He urged the people of South Sudan to celebrate Christmas peacefully.
