Unity State youth decry ongoing conflict and call for peace

“We are the Unity State Youth Forum and our message to the government of the Republic of South Sudan is: We the Unity state youth, we are condemning the propaganda that says the war is a tribal war between Dinka and Nuer”, said the Acting Chairperson of the Unity State Youth Union.

Joseph Juoy said youth in Unity State are calling for peace in the country.

Mr. Juoy told Eye Radio that they call upon the youth of South Sudan to show unity in order to end the crisis.

He said the youths condemn the propaganda according to which, this is a community-based conflict.

He urged the youths to discourage any tribalism in the country.

“We are assuring our commitment to mobilize our people and our community to stand firm together with our governor so that we maintain peace and security in Unity state at large”, he said.

Mr. Juoy called on all the youths of South Sudan not to allow themselves to be used by leaders who encourage tribalism in the country.
