Two of the defense witnesses in the case of former officials accused of playing a role in the loss of millions of US dollars in the office of the president have testified today in court.
The two are witnesses for John Agou, who is the first accused in the case.
Last week, the High Court issued a guilty verdict for the 16 former officials.
They were accused of forging the signature of the president, complicity, and the use of presidential stamps, among others.
Today, only two witnesses, who are Kenyan nationals testified.
The lawyers of the accused have requested the court that the director of internal security service and the director of external security service appear in court to testify.
“The Director of Internal Security Service and the director of External Security Service, that is; Kol Kur and Thomas Duoth, If they don’t come we will ask the court to arrest them and bring them to court to testify in the interest of justice,” said Agok Makur, the lead advocate for the defendants.
The next hearing will take place on the 19th May.
