The SPLM has cancelled its extraordinary meeting that was scheduled to take place next month due to rainy season and bad roads.

The party had proposed to have the National Liberation Council in October before the third national convention to review it activities.

However, acting SPLM Secretary General, Doctor Ann Itto said her party will now conduct reforms from Bomas up to the national level before the third National Convention.

“If we hold the extra ordinary convention, then immediately we have to hold the third national convention which is expensive and tiresome to organize,” Dr. Itto said.

“So, we decided we will not have the extra ordinary convention we will go straight away to the third national convention and that will start the reorganization of the SPLM from the grassroots which is through congress, which will start as soon as the rain stops.”

The SPLM convention is to empower the party with the ability to provide services to it citizens.

Doctor Itto said that the party will also seek designing its own flag -different from the flag of the Republic of South Sudan.
