Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony says the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) is on track to win the December 2026 general elections following a six-day leadership meeting in Juba.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Adil said party leaders reviewed the SPLM’s performance, identified areas requiring improvement, and agreed on measures to strengthen the party at all levels.
“Comrades, throughout the last five days, we have engaged in discussions, reviewed the progress of our party, identified areas requiring improvement, and agreed on practical measures to strengthen our party,” Adil said.
“Our deliberations have reinforced our shared responsibility to build a united and disciplined party. Comrade Chairman, with this meeting, we want to assure our members that we are on track to achieve decisive victory come December 2026 General Elections.”
The governor thanked SPLM Chairman and President Salva Kiir Mayardit for convening the meeting and acknowledged the SPLM National Secretariat for organizing the event.
He said the meeting reflected the party’s commitment to political mobilization, internal cohesion, governance, and service delivery ahead of the elections.
“As we prepare for the forthcoming General Elections, this meeting has revealed our determination to intensify political mobilization, strengthen our cohesion, promote good governance, enhance service delivery, and ensure that SPLM remains the party of choice for our people,” he said.
Adil called on party leaders to implement the resolutions adopted during the meeting and uphold party discipline and unity.
He also said delegates had reaffirmed an earlier party resolution endorsing President Salva Kiir Mayardit as the SPLM’s sole presidential candidate in the 2026 elections.
“On behalf of the states, we have reinforced the resolution endorsing Comrade Salva Kiir Mayardit as the sole presidential flag bearer. We have reinforced that you remain our sole candidate because you have proven that you can lead us to victory,” Adil said.
The six-day meeting brought together SPLM leaders from across the country to discuss party organization, governance, and preparations for the 2026 general elections.
