South Sudan’s U17 women’s team kept their CECAFA qualification hopes alive with a dominant 6–0 victory over Djibouti in a Group B fixture.
South Sudan controlled the game from the opening minutes. Amou opened the scoring in the 8th minute before adding a second goal in the 60th minute.
Marlin Pita also got on the scoresheet, while Ajak Gou Ajong sealed the emphatic win with a goal in the 71st minute.
The result strengthens South Sudan’s position in the group standings and keeps their qualification hopes alive ahead of a decisive final group match against Uganda.
The upcoming clash is expected to be crucial in determining which team advances. South Sudan currently trails Uganda closely, and a positive result, combined with a possible slip from Uganda, could see them finish top of Group B and secure qualification.
With momentum from the big win, South Sudan will head into the final fixture with confidence and everything still to play for.
