A young artist died of head injuries at Juba Teaching Hospital on Saturday after he was attacked by a group of men last Sunday.

22-year-old Mador Malual, an upcoming dance-hall artist – whose stage name is Boyya Jay Zee – was gravely hurt by machete-wielding young men along Gudele – Buaba Juba street last weekend.

His brother Moses Makuch said the deceased died at Juba Teaching Hospital, where he was being treated.

“Last Sunday, Boyya Jay Zee was coming from Buaba. On the way, those people attacked him using a panga and cut his head,” Makuch said on Sunday.

Makuch told Eye Radio on Sunday that the matter has been reported to the police, who are yet to make arrests.

“So, we took him to Juba Teaching Hospital. But yesterday, he passed away. This boy is a new artist. I don’t know those people, but I reported the case to the police and I even took form 8 and even from the hospital.”

A medical examination indicates that the late suffered a right-sided frontal acute intra-cerebral hemorrhage and depressed linear fracture line.

Police Criminal Form Number 8 also attributes the cause of death to severe internal bleeding in his head.
