Boma is facing shortage of health professionals, according to the state Minister of Health.
Okuony Simon says there are only two medical specialists and four general practitioners in the state.
“Actually we have few doctors and specialists. Currently ….. We have two…, one of is a specialist brought by MSF is working in Pibor hospital and we have one surgeon which is working in Pochalla.”
“We are encouraging more doctors to come to the area and more NGOs who are participating in the health services so that they can deliver the services.”
