South Sudanese students studying in Zimbabwe through government scholarship say they have not received stipends since last year.

A representative of the students at various universities in Zimbabwe say some of them whose parents are unable to support, have been starving due to lack of money to buy food.

Peter Tong, the Student’s spokesperson, told Eye Radio that their performance in class has also declined due to the hardship.

However, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Higher Education says the government is ware of the situation of the students.

Professor Bol Deng Chol says the Ministry of Finance has been directed by the Council of Ministers to pay the fees.
