In a post on its official Facebook page, the Ministry praised the commitment of doctors, nurses, midwives, laboratory personnel, pharmacists, cleaners and other support staff who have continued caring for patients despite the financial challenges affecting them.

According to the Ministry, hospital staff remain engaged in critical services, including emergency care, surgical procedures, maternal healthcare, treatment of children, laboratory services and the care of premature babies at the Special Baby Unit.

The Ministry said Rumbek State Hospital is currently supported through the Health Sector Transformation Project, a government-led programme funded by the World Bank and other development partners, with financial support managed by UNICEF and the World Health Organization in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.

While acknowledging ongoing improvements in health infrastructure, medical supplies and equipment through the project, the Ministry said the dedication of frontline health workers remains essential to maintaining quality healthcare delivery.

The Ministry described the health workers as the backbone of the country’s healthcare system and expressed appreciation for their resilience and continued service to the people of Lakes State.
