About 4,000 displaced people from Eastern Nile state have been stranded for almost a month at the Juba Airport.
They intended to return to their homes with the help of a committee that has been set up to carry out the process.
Some of them were residing in camps in Juba and Arua in the neighboring Uganda.
The displaced people are currently staying in the open near the airport.
“The IDPs are facing several challenges – food and water scarcity,” Thon Duot, a member of the repatriation committee, told Eye Radio.
However, he said they have already transported some of the returnees.
Areas in Greater upper Nile regions were affected during the conflict in 2013 and thousands fled their homes.
