A police officer was arrested on Saturday for wounding 3 civilians in a market in Wunrok Payam of Warrap state.

According to police investigators, the officer accidentally shot 3 civilians while attempting to clean his gun in a hotel.

Ayii Deng Ayii who was conducting the investigations said the police officer did not put the safety switch on while trying to clean food that had dropped on the gun.

He said no one had died. The unnamed police officer has been put in custody at Turalei prison.

Mr. Ayii urges police officers not to leave their guns cocked while in public places.
