A police officer has been injured while trying to rescue property from a police station, which had been burnt in Wudu trading Centre of Kajo-Keji County.

The spokesperson of the county says that the officer got stones thrown at him last night as he tried to retrieve some of the things which were in the office.

Beden Elikana said that the station was set ablaze when police officers had gone to patrol the town.

Spokesperson, Beden Elikana said, “The situation is still very tense here and the police are still tracing those who committed the crimes and up to now they have not been apprehended. Actually people are very miserable because of the situation. They are not happy to what has happened because this is a very terrible situation if a police station can be burnt like this.”

Mr. Elikana said when the criminals are apprehended, they will face the law.

He also urged the residents of Wudu to report any suspects to the police.
