Police nab 15 South Sudanese gang members in Khartoum

The Police in Sudanese capital Khartoum has arrested 15 suspected members of South Sudanese youth following the death of two people in Gang related violence in Omdurman city.

This is according to the Humanitarian Attaché at the South Sudan embassy in Khartoum.

On Tuesday, Two South Sudanese died in a gang-related violence in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

Joseph Yor says the incident happened in Karari, North of Khartoum between two South Sudanese gang-groups.

He said the fight between the two groups first broke out on Sunday and continued up to Tuesday evening.

Yor told Eye Radio that police are still looking for other suspected South Sudanese youth.

“The events that happened in Karari in the city of Omdurman, it happened on Sunday between gang groups in the market,” Yor told Eye Radio via phone from Khartoum.

“15 people from two groups were arrested and criminal reports were filed against them in the police station.

“We will follow up with the police on the rest of the measures today. There is stability in the area. We have contact with the authorities, this is what I want to inform the public about.”
