No enough police force in Juba’s payams

There are no enough police officers to prevent crime in all its counties and payams, a CES government official has said.

Earlier this month, two children were abducted in Lokiliri payam.

They were later recovered through a joint effort between Caretaker Governor Juma Ali Malou and the Chief Administrator of Pibor Administrative Area, David Yau Yau.

Last Friday, one person was killed by unknown gunmen in the same area.

Authorities there said the attackers were suspected to have been the same group of people who abducted the children.

“Lokiliri has become more targeted by this people who come to abduct children. There is a need to provide more security personnel,” said Oliver Mule Gabriel, state minister of local government.

“But also it must acknowledge that the state itself is also facing problem of no enough organize forces.”

Since the year 2000, a total of about 100 children have been abducted in the area.
