The National Police Service spokesperson has assured the public of a safe Christmas season, saying security forces will be deployed across the country to protect citizens.

Maj. Gen. James Monday Enoka said all security arrangements have been put in place to protect people and enforce law and order during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

However, he acknowledged that security organs are facing several challenges that limit their ability to deliver services fully in line with public expectations.

Despite these challenges, Maj. Gen. Enoka stressed that ensuring the safety of people and their property throughout the festive season remains a top priority.

“I want to assure the public that the festive season which is coming will be highly protected. We have put in place security coverage for the festive season and New Year. Please, don’t worry, you will be protected, enjoy,” he said.

Last year, hundreds of security personnel were deployed in parts of Juba and other cities across the country to secure the festivities. The deployment also included major highways to ensure safe travels to rural areas.
