Pibor requests for police personnel

Authorities in Greater Pibor have asked for the transfer of more than 200 police personnel from Jonglei State to the area to help in establishing a rule of law.

On Wednesday, the chief administrator of the area, David Yau Yau and the national minister of Justice, Paulino Wanawilla discussed on how to set up the legal system there.

Mr Yau Yau says the transfer is needed to enable his administration to function independently from Jonglei State.

“GPA has got independent administration; we have to plan for our police, prison, and wildlife and fire Brigade,” he said.

Mr Yau Yau added that his administration has been using traditional justice system to solve legal matters.
