The fourth round of the South Sudan peace talks has resumed in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The warring parties, civil society and faith-based groups are taking part as stakeholders.
But the political parties are not represented in this round. A 7-member delegation of the national alliance of opposition political parties was prevented from leaving Juba on Wednesday to participate in the discussions.
“This afternoon, at 3:30,….most of the South Sudanese stakeholders were calling on the parties to immediately stop war; end the suffering of the people,” Eye Radio’s Correspondent Michael Minassie reported from Addis Ababa.
“Messages from the faith-based groups, women groups, civil society organizations, eminent persons and the former political detainees were that, these negotiations, they hoped should be the last.”
The negotiations will start tomorrow in the morning at 9:30.
The contentious issues in the IGAD-Plus proposed peace deal include power sharing and structure of governance.
