Negotiators in the finance committee at the peace talks in Addis Ababa say they have agreed on most of the issues.
These include foreign debts and debts accumulated by the warring parties during the conflict.
“90% of the issues have been exhausted, agreed upon, blessed and forwarded to the leadership committee,” reported Eye Radio’s Nichola Mandil from the Ethiopian capital.
“Debts accumulated by both parties, which will be discussed by President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr Riek Machar. Then they will agree on how to pay off those debts when a transitional government of national unity is formed in July, hopefully.”
However, the head of the faith-based groups expressed fears that talks may lead to nowhere if the two principals are not involved.
