Parliament holds public hearing on constitutional amendments

The National assembly is holding a public hearing on the proposed constitutional amendments to postpone elections and extend the mandate of the current government until 2017.

The hearing is under the theme; “strengthening legislation through public participation.”

Representatives of political parties, civil society, religious groups and MPs from the states and national assemblies are taking part in the hearing.

It is being organized by the committee of Legislation and Legal Affairs in the National Parliament and the civil society group, Community Empowerment for Progress Organization.
