Officers meddling in politics asked to quit police

The Inspector General of the National Police Service has warned officers who insist on delving into politics will be asked to either choose to serve in the police or be regarded as politicians.

Gen. Atem Marol Biar Kuek made the statement during his visit to the National Police headquarters on Monday.

During the visit, Gen. Marol also briefed the senior police officers on his 6 months administrative plan including building reforms through training of the police officers.

He directed the officers who are deeply involved in politics to refrain and distance themselves from such practices.

The Inspector General warned that those who insist will be asked to either choose to serve as police officers or politicians.

He also directed the Department of the Traffic Police to work according to the orders and traffic Police provisions and laws.
