New Civil Defence Service chief urged to strengthen institution

The Minister of Interior, Aleu Ayieny Aleu, has called on the newly appointed Commissioner General of the South Sudan Civil Defence Service, Gen. Rodan Loro Karlo, to promote teamwork and strengthen the institution as he begins his new role.

The minister made the remarks on Friday during a meeting with Gen. Rodan, shortly after he was sworn in by President Salva Kiir.

Gen. Aleu congratulated the new commissioner general and urged him to work closely with officers across the institution to improve staff welfare, strengthen operational systems, and enhance the effectiveness of the Civil Defense Service.

He also stressed the importance of professionalism and cooperation as South Sudan prepares for the general elections scheduled for December 2026.

Gen. Rodan Loro Karlo officially assumed office after taking the oath of office on Friday.
