As clubs in 10 states of South Sudan prepare for the sporting activities in the country under the sponsorship of MTN, Northern Bahr el Ghazal state El Salam FC take steps to fight their championship tier.

On Tuesday, preparatory matches organized by MTN to facilitate El Salam for championship in Juba kicked off. The match between El Salam and Black Eagle ended 4-1 in favor of el Salam.

According to MTN Trade and Marketing Coordinator in South Sudan, Johnson Abraham Madol who witnessed and launched the initiative, said he has been moving across 10 states of South Sudan selling idea of MTN sporting activities in order to bring youth together to benefit from it.

Johnson Abraham told Eye Radio from Aweil that the tournament is meant to build the capacity of youth.

Abraham said after the conclusion of game between el Salam FC and Black Eagle FC on Tuesday.

Madol says 8 teams will have to be voted in by MTN customers [those using MTN simcards] in order to qualify for the tournament which is going to be organized in two regions of Juba in Central Equatoria and Wau in Western Bahr el Ghazal.

8 teams will qualify for this tournament in South Sudan only when their fans subscribe to a voting process where the winner team will get 250, 000 SSP plus a trophy, second gets 175,000 SSP plus a trophy and the third gets 70,000 SSP and a trophy.
