Many people in South Sudan may not know who Margaret Lokurnyang Lado is, but most veteran SPLM/SPLA politicians know her father, Lokurnyang Lado who was killed at the beginning of the liberation war.
Margaret is among the few young female leaders, who have just joined the political arena.
The young politician took part in the peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on the ticket of the Federal Democratic Party headed up by Gabriel Changson. FDP is now a member of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance.
After the signing of the revitalized peace agreement in September 2018, Margaret became a member of the dissemination unit of the National Pre-transitional Committee responsible for publicity and advocacy.
