The SPLM-IO says the arrival of the first vice president designate Dr Riek Machar has been postponed to tomorrow.

He was supposed to arrive in Juba this morning and take oath of office.

The spokesperson of SPLM-IO advance team in Juba, William Ezekiel told Eye Radio that the flight to Juba has been rescheduled due to logistical issues.

“We are sorry to announce to the public that…..we attribute it to logistical problems,” Mr Ezekiel said.

Meanwhile, SPLM-IO claims several posters that had been erected along major roads in Juba, showing Dr Machar with “Through peace let’s build South Sudan” slogan have been removed.

“We are really not happy; we deplore the incident which took place possibly at night,” he added.

On arrival, Dr. Riek is scheduled to take oath at the president’s office and pay tribute to late Dr. John Garang at the Mausoleum.
