More than 70 people were killed in a clash between two communities in Rumbek Central County yesterday, according to Lakes State officials.

The Minister of Information, Dhieu Wol, says the cause of the fighting has not been established.

He says the conflict broke out in a remote village of the county, where there is no phone coverage.

Mr Dhieu says it is not clear whether the fighting continued this morning.
