Kiir-Riek cooperation ‘fairly good’

The First Vice President, Dr Riek Machar, says the level of cooperation among leaders in implementing the peace agreement is fairly good.

He said despite difficulties in addressing outstanding issues, the executive council has been able to handle them.

“The level of cooperation, the confidence is being built and we are moving forward. That is why despite difficulties, we would come up with a resolution in the council of ministers,” Dr Machar told Eye Radio’s Dawn Show.

He said reconstitution of the Transitional Legislature, stabilizing security, and the economy are among the immediate issues the government is trying to address.

On the economy, he said the government plans to step up oil productions to boost the economy.

“The inflation is three hundred percent. We need to step up production, starting from production of oil in the eastern oil fields and the western Oil fields,” he added.

“We need to work hard so that they are opened to contribute the economy”.
