Kiir receives credentials of new ambassadors

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the President Salva Kiir has received certification from seven Ambassadors accepted by South Sudan.

A statement by the ministry indicates that most of the ambassadors will be based in Juba and some in foreign countries.

The credentials received include of the Ambassadors of Canada to South Sudan, Mr. Alan Hamson, the People’s Republic of China, Mr. He Xiandong, and the Kingdom of Netherlands, Mr. Geert Spike Geut,

Credentials of the ambassador of Royal Kingdom of Norway, Mr. Gunar A. Holm and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hussien Hagi Ahmed Mahmoud were also received.

All of the ambassadors mentioned above will be based in Juba.

The President also received credentials of the Ambassador of Royal Danish to the Republic of South Sudan, Ms. Mette Thygesen, who will reside in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

And, the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Republic of South Sudan, Maj. Gen. Frank Mugambage, who will be based in Kampala, Uganda.

The Ministry says the credentials were received in the presence of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Martin Elia Lomuro, National Security Minister, Obutu Mamur and Undersecretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Joseph Ayok.
